WORCESTER UNITED LADIES

The 2016/17 season saw the ladies establish themselves as title contenders with the only competition being the newly equipped Redditch United.

The results the ladies recorded reflected the quality of the squad and their desire to gain promotion after numerous years of hard work

United completed the season 5 points ahead of rivals Redditch United, having won 14, drawing 2 and losing 0..

The 2015/16 season, unfortunately saw United miss out on promotion by 3 points to Coundon Court, a team they had previously beaten 3 times in the same season.

Despite the set back of the league, the club went on to win both domestic cups available. The Worcestershire FA Cup and the West Midlands Regional Cup. The Worcestershire FA Cup saw Worcester travel to Bromsgrove to take on Malvern Town beating them 2-0 and then to Stoke to play Coundon Court, comfortable beating them 1-0.

Worcester United's 2015/16 league campaign unfortunately did not go the way initially planned.

Despite numerous good performances and results put up by the ladies, loss of unnecessary points saw them fall 3 points short, ironically to Coundon Court who United had previously beaten with ease.

​

The upset of missing out on the league and promotion was however eased by United completing the cup double.

The conclusion of the 2015/16 season saw United enter a team into the MSFFL 5 Aside tournament.

Having entered the tournament a handful of times before, Worcester were looking to go one better and secure the title. After numerous hard matches and stellar performances from the ladies the team found themselves progress to the final.

​

The final whistle blew and saw Worcester crowned MSFFL 5 Aside champions for the first ever time.

​

The ladies of Worcester United looked to the 2011/12 campaign to build on their first seasons success. 

​

Worcester began the season strong, with wins coming in all competitions. The ladies continued their hard work and looked to dominate in every game. Their continued success within the league carried through to the last game of the season with United recording a 100% win record in the league.

​

In just their second season of Worcester United being formed, the ladies had done the impossible and gained promotion to West Midlands Division 1 South league. 

​

Manager Ryan O'Connor credited his players and their approach and attitude they took into every game. The United manager said "The results speak for themselves. 100% win record across the board in the league. We came so close last season and to have done it this season is incredible. All the hard work has paid off. Worcester United deserve this."

Forming in 2010, Worcester United were a new team, with new players and under new management.

United went into the Hereford and Worcestershire League, with the intention to become a title contending side after a few seasons. 

​

Worcester got off to an incredible start recording nothing but wins. The ladies carried that momentum into the second half of the season following the Christmas period. Despite the odd setback and loss, United continued to impress.

​

The end of the season saw United do what many thought would not be possible in such a short space of time. Worcester, a newly formed team finished 2nd in the league, narrowly missing out on promotion to KGV Ladies, by only a handful of points.

​

Manager Ryan O'Connor was incredibly proud of what his squad had produced in just one season. O'Connor said "I couldn't be happier. The team have only been together for around 8 months. To come runners up in our first season is an incredible achievement and I could not be prouder of the ladies."
